Union Visual Effects won the 2024 BAFTA for Special Visual Effects for our work on Poor Things! We were also shortlisted for the 96th Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

Poor Things was my first time leading roto/prep for an entire show. It well and truly threw me into the deep end and I personally spent 750+ hours on this film.

I was the department lead on the project, managing the whole team and outsource. All bidding, briefing, and QC. The client had exacting standards. The film used had unique grain and weave to deal with. The hybrid animals in the film were all filmed individually and precisely rotoscoped.
